I had an amazing stay at the Altoona Grand Hotel. The hotel was comfortable, quiet, and welcoming. I especially want to thank Musa for being such a great person and an amazing employee. He was very helpful, respectful, kind, and always made sure everything was taken care of. His excellent customer service truly made my stay better, and I really appreciate all his help. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This isn't my first time at this hotel but everytime stay, there's issues.1) I was in room 175 and during my shower the water went to scalding hot then ice cold with no warning. 2) Pubic hairs in the corner of the bathroom. 3) The pillows are flat and small. 4) Don't bother with the free breakfast. You only get what you pay for. 5) Bedsheets are messy and do not stay tucked in properly. 6) The coffee maker in the room is cracked and should be replaced. 7) The room AC wouldn't go below 73 and we were in the middle of a heat wave. The pros: The desk clerks and housekeeping were very nice and the pool was great! Prices weren't awful. The bar was decent and the bartender,Annie, was very sweet and attentive. So there ya have it.

From the outside it looked shady as soon as I arrived. I went inside and saw the lobby and restaurant area and thought okay maybe this place isn't so bad. I was first assigned a room in the back and I didn't feel safe there, so I asked to move to a new room. This request was granted and the front desk staff was very nice. I had dinner in the restaurant. Food was good and staff was amazing. During the night individuals that did not belong in the hotel were fighting inside the building right outside my door. After listening to them fight outside of my door for a period of time, I contacted the front desk. The police were contacted as the individuals refused to leave the property. It was evident immediately why this hotel was much cheaper than the rest. The rug in the hotel room was gross and sticky. I would not recommend staying here. It seem like a great price for the indoor pool area, but spend a little more money and pick a nicer place. Did not feel safe here at all.
